The 3 Series goes fully modern — turbocharged across the range, electric steering and a tech-rich cabin, in sedan (F30), Touring (F31) and Gran Turismo (F34) forms. The coupe and convertible split off to the new 4 Series, and the M3 became a sedan-only F80. Brilliant used buys — and the engine is the story, from the chain-prone N20 to the superb B58.
